Breaking down the walls with Social Good

Post 89! Congratulations on getting this far! We’re almost there – we have 90 x 15 minute challenge tasks to help us have a amazingly successful online strategy. There’s no doubt that every business must have a Social component in their marketing toolbox.
When I research for my graphic ideas I find awesome ideas from Google. ’89 was the year the Berlin wall came down. I so remember watching the news that day. Today Social Media can radically break down political unrest – look at what happened in Egypt. And yet there are still walls around certain countries. Try accessing Facebook or Twitter in China!What I so love in our western world is how we’ve broken down those walls by being able to be authentic and have such wide reach. Using our 4 E’s : Enlighten, Engage, Entertain & Execute we’ve got an unstoppable force to not only survive but thrive in 2013 and beyond.
And it all starts with your Blog. It has to be the central hub of your whole communication strategy. We all have a story to tell and great information to share.
I’vie been saying this for two years but had never really pr oven it. So that’s why, in part, we started the 90 Day Social Media Challenge. To see the effectiveness and to know it can be done. Sure, it’s been a massive effort, we’vie clocked up over 200 hours! You don’t have to write daily, but surely you could manage a few posts per month? The difference in your effectiveness and reputation would be off the scale. On two fronts:
- Firstly Google is now ranking businesses based on their content – be a content creator, with high engagement, specific to your niche Industry and you’ll jump right to the top.
- Secondly, your clients and potential clients see you as the local expert. The go-to person who is approachable, like-able and sought after.It creates an awesome “feel good” factor.
My great friend mentor Neil Godin’s famous phrase comes to mind:“You call them – you’re a Salesman, They call you – you’re an Expert!”
Isn’t that where we all want to be? With a constant stream of phone calls and emails asking for help?
It can be this way – believe me!
You just have to start. You don’t have to know it all, I’ve learned so much along the way and continue to do so.
