Social Media now connects people across the globe. I love to make new connections that turn into friends. One such connection led to us helping launch their agency in their new city. That’s how we took Social Media 1 1/2 to Regina!

My friend Kaayla and I met through a private Facebook group we joined led by one of the world’s top Social Media Influencers Sandi Krakowski. As so often happens you follow each other, get to know and like your posts and eventually that leads to trust. Kaayla had moved from Calgary where she had a very vibrant Social Media agency to Regina Sask to help her aging Mom reconnect with her extended family once again. It’s hard to relocate and set up shop. I should know – we moved to Canada from the UK! Getting a local, trusted reputation is critical to business success.

Short story long – Kaayla asked if we could run our signature workshop Social Media 1 1/2 on behalf of her company to show the potential of Social Media marketing when it’s done right! Having never been to Regina and loving a new opportunity to help a fellow professional we said sure! Set the date and left the publicity to Kaayla.

The Regina Public Library was chosen as a central venue and we had 15 local businesses sign up and a great day was ahead! We had officials fro the Premier’s Office, The local Polytechnic and a number of large brands such as Delta Hotels, Travel Lodge, Great Canadian Oil Change, Hunter Douglas and a wonderful variety of local business such as Accounting, Landscaping & consulting – the perfect mix of large and small! We love to help businesses of all sizes tell their story.

We were delighted that the Delta Hotel became a sponsor of the event and I got to stay in a fabulous, executive suite with an amazing view!

The weather was much warmer than I expected. Regina is a terrific city with wonderful architecture and super friendly folk. The Library was a great venue – central and very well set up for a workshop of this size.

We kicked off the day with Tim Horton’s coffee and doughnuts (0f course! It’s the Canadian way – eh) Got to find out about each attendee. I’d done some in-depth research of each business online as they’d registered so we we were able to help them very specifically during the day. And a great day it was! We covered off

A power packed day that flew by and became an idea machine of creature strategies and advice, I so enjoyed the day -what a great group! We’ve received such amazing feed back since.

Jonathan I have been so motivated since the seminar, I think I’m wearing my phone out on my personal and business stuff. We had a great meeting with our SM director from Direct West and wow we sure are moving forward. Just have to get my guys to blog. I’ll stay in touch. Thanks for everything.

Just to add when I was coming for this seminar I didn’t really know what it was about and almost stayed home so glad I didn’t. You are real and off the cuff but you know your stuff and there are many sceptics that think you can’t sell over social media. You present the facts and have proof in the pudding. Good things do happen to good people. You are proof.
