Sometimes in business we’re so busy educating, we need to be reminded – Don’t forget to ask for the sale!
Some time back we worked with a wonderful family, who for three generations have created the very best organic soil you can buy! It’s all about worms and castings and composting.
Life happens, and their daughter was expecting! Wonderful, in the meanwhile we were able to create a fabulous new website for them and they’ve done a great job with the social media engagement strategy. But’s it’s a struggle, especially when you have the demands of a baby in your arms!
They sell some amazing products and are very close to the hub of the city. Our next challenge is to get them on top of people’s minds now that the hot summer weather is changing a little, back to school ideas abound and so does the need to get your garden ready for fall. It’s a perfect field to harvest!
We had a conversation about is it ok to sell on Facebook?
The answer is YES but not with every post. I’ve heard ratios on 1:10 even as low as 1:4 – in that every tenth post you make should give people the chance to buy your product or services.
I always suggest we create a call to action in the header picture (cover photo). On Facebook there’s now also a call to action button that can link directly to your website or shopping cart.
People need your stuff! Especially when it’s the best stuff out there – so don’t be afraid to ask for the sale.
You’ll be amazed how often, people will actually thank you for reminding them. And that my friends is the beauty of Social media – when you can appear in a person’s feed often enough with a message that attracts and engages and gives people the inspiration to click onto your website, learn more about your stuff and press the buy button!
Have someone take all these steps, who doesn’t know your site and see how easy it is to navigate – if you see problems – fix them!
